My name is Meredith and I'm a psychotherapeutic counsellor.
I have personally experienced the profound transformation that the counselling process can bring and how deeply healing it can be to have someone who really listens, understands and wants the best for you.
No therapist ever picked up on the fact that I am autistic (likely due to my masking and a general lack of awareness of how autism presents in females), which slowed my journey to self-acceptance and kept me with a feeling of oddness and shame that I couldn't function in the same way others did.
Exploring my autism and my life through an autistic lens is an ongoing, revelatory process.
I hold a diploma in integrative transpersonal counselling from
Re-Vision, a holistic training model which incorporates mind, body, spirit and soul. My training is accredited by the BACP and UKCP.
I have worked with people who are feeling anxious, depressed, hurt, uneasy, heartbroken, voiceless, ashamed, distressed, angry, stressed, exhausted, stuck, lost, despairing and disconnected from themselves.
I have worked for the Low Cost Counselling Service at Re-Vision in North London, the Wimbledon Guild Talking Therapies Service and currently run a private practice in Pimlico.
I have experience working with:
Burnout and exhaustion
Loss of meaning/ purpose
Developmental trauma (C-PTSD)
Hormones/ menstrual issues
I am registered with the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and abide by their ethical framework. I am committed to continuous professional development and attend regular supervision.
I feel a strong connection with nature and animals so enjoy being outside as much as I can. I love to dance and enjoy movement in many forms. I also enjoy listening to music, singing and vocal expression. I enjoy learning around my interests, creative expression, reading and writing poetry.
I have an interest in meditation, Buddhism and Shamanism and how these principles can help us to live well.
